An Imperative Boarding and Dis-embarkation Ladder

It has become all to obvious during the building of this boat that the amount of free-board will require steps in and out to leave and board the boat unless one is a youthful gymnast.

The real truth of the matter is that I don't really know what the freeboard is other than extrapolating from the fact that I expect the weight of the boat to be 1-1.1 tonnes, all up but sans crew. One tonne is a cubic metre of water and I estimate that volume relates pretty much to the volume of the boat upto the floor-board runners on each side. Thus the free board will be some 100 cms below the gunwhales and the internal dimension from floor-board to gunwhale the same as shown above.
In cross-sectional profile there is virtually no bilge so the sides cut in sharply and pose a problem to stabilize a ladder on the boat's outside. Another worry is retrieving someone or something from the water - this settles the importance of a ladder.
Also the ladder shouldn't be free but a part of the boats structure, ideally easily stowed under the deck so as not to be a hindrance to moving around the boat.
